Step 1. Open Registry Editor.

Step 2. Then, browse or navigate to the following key in the left sidebar of the Registry Editor window:-

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies

Step 3. Right-click on the Policies folder in the left sidebar and select New > Key.

Step 4. Name the newly created key as Mozilla.

Step 5. Next, right-click on the Mozilla folder and pick New > Key.

Step 6. Name this new key to Firefox.

Step 7. Right-click on the Firefox folder and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Step 8. Name the newly created REG_DWORD to DisablePasswordReveal.

Step 9. Double-click on the DisablePasswordReveal REG_DWORD and set its “Value data” to 1.

Step 10. Click OK.

To show the Reveal Password icon, right-click on DisablePasswordReveal REG_DWORD on the opposite side of the “Firefox” key and select the Delete option.

To remove the show password button for saved logins in Firefox through Local Group Policy Editor, do these steps:-

Step 1. Open Local Group Policy Editor.

Step 2. Then, browse or navigate to the following path in the left sidebar of the Local Group Policy Editor window:-

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Mozilla > Firefox

Step 3. On the right side, double-click on the policy name “Do not allow passwords to be revealed in saved logins.”

Step 4. Select Enabled.

Step 5. Click Apply.

Step 6. Click OK.

Step 7. Finally, reboot your computer to apply the changes.

Once you complete the above steps, when you visit the “Logins & Passwords” page in Firefox, you will no longer find the Reveal Password icon.

To show the Reveal Password icon, repeat the above steps and in step 4 above, select the Not Configured option.
